Up kinda late, but was off to Eunice’s by late morning! She had visited Alaska a couple years ago, so it was really great to see her again….another single lady later in life!
Eunice showed me around her the home she had purchased a few years before….a “Frank Lloyd Wright” design, so it has a really interesting layout! After the tour and some conversation, I took a shower so I could go visit Eunice’s parents, Elaine & Gene.
We walked over to Rutledge Retirement Home first to visit with Elaine. Elaine had moved there about a year ago and was very happy there and said that there was always something to do there. Her room was like a studio apartment, compact but quite comfortable and cozy! Eunice left me to visit with her mother while she took her son’s dog for a walk.
By the time Eunice came back, it was time to take a few pictures and head to see Gene!
We left the motorhome in Eunice’s huge driveway and Eunice drove her car to her Dad’s. I had intented to be at Gene’s around noon so we could take him to lunch, but it was nearly mid afternoon. We talked about where we would go to eat as all three of us were hungry and decided that Connell’s Supper Club was where we would go, but it didn’t open until 5 pm and it was only 3:30 or 4 pm!
Eunice grabbed a banana to hold her over and the reminiscing began!
Intermittently, Eunice called Connell’s to see if they were open, but no answer! When 5 pm rolled around, we all decided to hop in the car and go….open or not, we were all hungry and if Connell’s wasn’t open, we were headed to find someplace that was!
We sat at the bar and had a few drinks before dinner, lots of fun joking and then dinner! The food was delicious!….and my plate couldn’t have been cleaner without licking it!
By the time, we had Gene back home, it was close to 9 pm!…a testament to the good time we had!
